The combination of sildenafil and nitrates has the potential to lead to an unsafe blood pressure drop, which may cause a fatal outcome.
The use of tadalafil may increase the risk of cardiovascular events including myocardial infarction (heart attack), stroke, sudden cardiac death, and death, which can occur when the drug is taken with nitrates. Patients receiving tadalafil should be monitored for side effects that may be expected with or without the use of tadalafil.

A group of Chinese men have been jailed for nearly two decades for allegedly selling counterfeit erectile dysfunction pills to the public.
According to court documents, they bought fake Viagra pills from a website that claimed to have information about the drug.
The pills were sent to a private company and later returned to the Chinese market to be used as a recreational drug. The tablets were then sold to consumers and the court ruling reads:
